The Best Organic Coffee
Here at Nonstop Signs we drink a lot of coffee. It’s part and parcel of being a dynamic company where a lot of things are happening all the time. If you’re a business owner, a student, or a graphic designer freelancing for clients, you’re probably friends with caffeine as well. To show our love for coffee, we’ve decided to put together a list of some of the best organic coffee we could find. No offense to Starbuck’s, but there are better coffees around. We love the environment because without it we wouldn’t be here. By the way, if you’re a coffee company, we’re happy to print out labels for your coffee!
Best Organic Coffee #1: Kick Ass by Kicking Horse Coffee
Let us take a moment to appreciate the name of this coffee. The coffee is, according to the Kicking Horse Coffee company, created specifically for “waking up and kicking ass.” It has a smoky aroma, with a mix of sweet vanilla and dark chocolate. The taste itself is a combination of molasses, licorice, chocolate, malt, and a bit of an earthy finish.
Best Organic Coffee #2: Death Wish by Death Wish Coffee Company
The Kicking Horse Coffee company gets a run for their money with this coffee. Death Wish Coffee Company brands their flagship coffee as “ultra-caffeinated” and “The World’s Strongest Coffee.” It’s a bold claim, and also a bold coffee. The company keeps their roast batches small to ensure that you get the freshest coffee when you buy a bag.
Best Organic Coffee #3: Cold Press Elixir by Tiny Footprint
Tiny Footprint has come up with a pretty cool concept for their Cold Press Elixir coffee. They brand themselves as “the world’s first carbon-negative coffee company.” That means that they aim to not only reduce their carbon emissions but create cleaner air overall. They work with the Ecuadorian Mindo Cloudforest Foundation, and plant trees when you buy coffee.
Best Organic Coffee #4: Subtle Earth by Cafe Don Pablo
Subtle Earth from Cafe Don Pablo comes from the Marcala region in Honduras. They grow the coffee at high altitudes where very few insects are, so they don’t have to use insecticide. They don’t use any chemical inputs at all. The cherry, which is the fruit of the coffee bean, is used as fertilizer for the next batch of coffee. Cafe Don Pablo is a truly sustainable company.
Best Organic Coffee #5: Colombia Jo by Jo Coffee
Jo Coffee is a company that doesn’t mess around when it comes to quality. They get their Arabica raw coffee beans from the top 2% sources on the market. Naturally, the company is also Fair Trade Certified and does not use any GMO coffee beans. Their Colombia coffee is particularly useful and has undertones of caramel, almond, and cane sugar.
Best Organic Coffee #6: Organic Coffee by Equal Exchange
The Equal Exchange is another great coffee company that produces some of the best beans we’ve tasted. The days can get quite stressful, so this coffee is perfect for busy afternoons. The company slogan is to “find your moment of Zen,” and that’s precisely what you do with this coffee. It has some hints of malt, chocolate, and almond to go with the excellent base taste.
Best Organic Coffee #7: Peak Performance Coffee by Peak Performance Health
Peak Performance Coffee comes straight from the Highlands in Guatemala. The Highlands, as the name implies, is quite high up. As such, they don’t need to use insecticides to protect their coffee beans from being chewed up. Heavily influenced by his culture, Mayoga brings out the Cuban spirit in his signature blend of Cafe Cubano.
Best Organic Coffee #9: Rainforest Blend by San Francisco Bay
Rather than sourcing their coffee beans from a single place, San Francisco Bay mixes them up. The beans come from Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, and even Indonesia. This Rainforest Blend is smooth and full-bodied, with a hint of acidic tones. The San Francisco Bay company worked with the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of San Francisco to ensure that all their coffee is certified Kosher.

Cameron’s Coffee is a company that pays close attention to detail, and favor quality over quantity. Their coffee beans are handcrafted and only roasted in small batches to ensure their freshness. The beans are from several places around the world. This mixture of beans gives this Organic French Roast a unique flavor that sneaks up on you.
Best Organic Coffee #11: Dark Roast by Real Good Coffee
If you name your company Real Good Coffee, then you better live up to the name. We thought we would put their name to the test by ordering a Dark Roast, and we weren’t disappointed. The beans are from Sumatra, but what’s interesting is the taste of this coffee. They have managed to mix in exotic flavors like lemon, cedar, and bell pepper.
Best Organic Coffee #12: Daybreak Morning Blend by Caribou Coffee
Caribou Coffee wants to give you a “taste of sunshine with every sip.” We aren’t short on the sun in California, but we decided to try it out anyway. Its taste has hints of caramel and almond, which are an excellent way to start the morning. We also like that the coffee is Rainforest Alliance Certified so that every cup of coffee you drink will contribute to a healthier planet.
Best Organic Coffee #13: Java Love by The Organic Coffee Co
If you’re into helping create a sustainable environment, then the Organic Coffee Co is the company for you. We tried out their Java Love coffee to assist them in their humanitarian efforts. They grow the coffee on their biodiverse farms in Panama, and also have a Community Aid Program that helps regrow the local rainforest. It doesn’t get more environmentally friendly than that!
Best Organic Coffee #14: Regular Roast by Cafe Altura
Cafe Altura is a company that is local to us, as they’re in Ventura, Californa. Coincidentally, Ventura is also the place where they roast their beans. We decided to try out their Regular Roast to see what Californians are made of when it comes to coffee. We were not disappointed. Cafe Altura also roasts in small batches to preserve the freshness.
Best Organic Coffee #15: Mexican Chiapas by Fresh Roasted Coffee
Mexico is not too far from California and has some of the best coffee around. We tested the Mexican Chiapas because it has a very odd combination of flavors. It starts out as a mild cup of coffee, but soon you’ll be met with a combination of brown sugar, cashew nuts, and even pear fruits. The beans are naturally sourced from Chiapas — hence the name.
Best Organic Coffee #16: Vanilla Nut by The Bean Coffee Company
The Bean Coffee Company knows what they’re doing when it comes to producing rich coffee. We tried their Vanilla Nut and were quite impressed. The company preserved the taste by roasting the beans in small batches, and then packaging them right at the peak of the roasting cycle.
Best Organic Coffee #17: Mellow Belly by Lucy Jo’s Coffee Roastery
Too much of a good thing is not always right. Anyone who has tried to drink a whole pot of coffee will know that your stomach doesn’t always agree with you. Best Organic Coffee #19: Keurig Single-Serve K-Cup Pod by Newman’s Own
Sometimes the days never end in our office, and a few heads are left behind after hours. It’s not feasible to always make a full pot of coffee, so we bought a few of these single-serve cups. Newman’s Own coffee mixes beans from Central America and Indonesia to create a potent brew. You can taste it regardless of how much milk and sugar you add
Best Organic Coffee #20: Organic Whole Bean Coffee by Kion
Last on our list is this coffee by Kion. They brand it as “the cleanest coffee o the face of the planet.” The coffee also combines some exciting elements of citrus, cocoa, and walnut to create a unique flavor. It doesn’t stop there, however. Our experts also detected hints of orange, chocolate, and pecan nuts. Quite a combination and we’ve made sure to stock up on it.
