Nonstop Signs Announces Death of CEO Brandon Stapper
Company grieves the loss of an inspirational leader as it looks forward to the future
SAN DIEGO, CA., Mar. 3, 2019 — Nonstop Signs today issued the following statement: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Brandon Howe Stapper, Chief Executive Officer of Nonstop Signs and 858 Graphics, died today in Kenya due to a helicopter crash on an island in Lake Turkana. The entire staff of Nonstop Signs and it’s associated brands mourn this enormous loss. On behalf of our management team and employees, we extend our condolences to Brandon’s family and wife, Gehane Ribeyre. Brandon was not just an entrepreneur, not just a valuable friend, but he was family to his many employees, partners, and acquaintances.”
We greet this day with mixed feelings of pride in our strongest sales number ever this year and profound sadness that we cannot share them with the founder of this company. January and February each broke a record for the highest sales obtained in those respective months in company history. March is on track to perform the same way.
We are so fortunate that, as part of his team building, Brandon left the company staffed with strong employees that are uniquely equipped to run the company according to his vision and in support of Gehane. In particular, we are fortunate that Cole Canedy, Chief Operating Officer will continue in his role to lead the team forward.
Cole Canedy issued the following statement:
“I met Brandon Stapper 8 years ago when I was given an opportunity to do part-time work at 858 Graphics. I instantly fell in love with the culture, the people, and the work that 858 Graphics did (and still does). Little did I know, this opportunity would shape who I am today and lead to many of the relationships that I hold so dear. Brandon Stapper held such a vital role in my growth. As many will tell you, Brandon was a role model, an inspiration, and one of the most genuine people you can ever meet. The expression “one in a billion” really applies to him. I looked up to him like an older brother; the way he ran his company, the way he treated people, and the way he loved those around him.
Brandon is a special human being, and I am going to miss him greatly. It hurts me to write this because it makes his death all the more real. I am a better person because of the role he played in my life. I am forever grateful for the chance to know Brandon as long as I have. I will continue to live my life to the fullest and lead our team with the same integrity and passion as Brandon Stapper did.”
