What is Coroplast?
Coroplast may not be a word that you hear every day; it’s something of an industry term. Like Coke or Kleenex, it is a brand name that has become synonymous with its product: corrugated plastic. These signs are utilized for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor uses. They are made of an extremely versatile extruded twin-wall polypropylene sheet of fluted or corrugated plastic. Coroplast signs are a lightweight and cost-effective visual communications solution, If you’ve seen an open house sign or little political campaign signs along roadsides, you’ve seen a coroplast sign. Corrugated plastic is incredibly durable while still being lightweight. It’s so thin that it’s the substrate of choice for those oversized spinner arrows that you see people dancing with on street corners. As one of our cheapest rigid substrates, custom printed Coroplast signs are perfect for advertising on a budget.
How long does Coroplast last?
Coroplast is surprisingly durable and dent resistant considering its weight. The corrugated fluting reinforces the surface, giving these a substance that will defy warping, punctures and be getting crushed with normal usage. Completely waterproof, this substrate weathers the elements well. Large Coroplast signs, however, can be prone to bowing in high heat areas.
Full color, eye-catching signs.
Our flatbed printers can print directly onto rigid substrates with waterproof UV-cured inks, so your message won’t shrink, peel, or fade. The corrugated construction of the Coroplast gives the surface a subtle, ridged appearance. Please keep in mind when designing your sign that letters and simple graphics do well on Coroplast, but detailed images may have a slightly uneven appearance. Your sign is ideal for both indoor and outdoor usage. A structure of some sort must support the material. They insert easily into wire yard sign frames, or A-frame sidewalk signs and Signicade stands. For a free-standing coroplast sign, check out our A-frame signs.

Custom Coroplast Sign Printing Options
If your signs or signs are meant to view from only one direction you have the option to print on a single side of the coroplast sheet. We offer grommets on all of our 4mm signs if requested.
Double-Sided Coroplast Signs
If you plan to have your sign viewed from both the front and back, you will need to have your coroplast sheet printed on both sides. That saves money on an extra sheet of material but increases the price due to ink usage; never the less it is cheaper than ordering two coroplast signs that are single sided. How do you print coroplast?
We have a large full-color coroplast printer that prints directly to 4×8 coroplast sheets. The old way to print was mounting high tac vinyl adhesive with a squeegee to corrugated sheets which is very time consuming and not high quality. We can also screen print coroplast for lower cost high print runs.
Are there different types of corrugated plastic signs?
There are several brands of corrugated signs but Coroplast is by far the most popular sign material.
Coroplast sign sizes
We can custom print coroplast to any size or shape but here are a few of the most common sizes.
Life Span & Care:
Our high-quality UV inks are the best available and can withstand the harshest of elements when used outdoors. When used indoors, signs can last up to 5 years with regular cleanings with mild soap and water. Please avoid leaving these signs in a hot climate or car, as they could potentially bend or bow. If you do need to store them in a HOT area or car make sure to stack them as flat as possible to prevent any warping.
- Wipe off in the direction of the grooves when cleaning.
- Do not leave these signs in direct sun or a hot car; they may bow or bend if not laying flat.
