What is a Dibond Sign?
Dibond signs are a rigid, durable aluminum composite material consisting of two thin sheets of .012-inch thick aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene plastic core. Which makes it a unique composition that makes it approximately half the weight of raw aluminum. Dibond, the flattest panel on the market, offers a superior surface for direct digital printing & mounting graphics. Our signs provide excellent durability in outdoor applications and won’t bow or warp. It comes in 12 standard colors, including six metallic shades and can be custom printed to any color. We stock sheet sizes ranging from 48-by-96 inches to 60-by-120-inches and in thicknesses ranging from 2 mm to 4 mm.
The versatility of Dibond signs:
Dibond panels are for fine art galleries and framing businesses the world over; printing provides richly saturated images. If you decide to go with color, we print with waterproof UV resistant inks. It remains impervious to all environments indoors & outdoors. That is the most popular material for custom outdoor signs.
We have an in-house CNC router that can cut sheets to any shape, eliminating the pain of getting custom metal signs cut. Combine it with the moisture & heat resistance, & you have one strong sign. It works well indoors. Printable on both sides, this makes permanent outdoor directional signage. Are you looking for a substrate for an outdoor wayfinding system, new Dibond signs, or the best way to make sure your fine art prints stand the test of time?

Dibond Signage FAQ
What is Dibond?
We get the question all the time, what is Dibond? It is a sign material that takes two sheets of aluminum and sandwiches a plastic core in between them. It creates a terrific indoor & outdoor sign panel, great for any use. If you want to order these signs online, we will double check all artwork to make sure your prints are perfect!
Why are custom Dibond signs suitable for use as outdoor signs?
Dibond panels are our favorite material for custom outdoor signs because they are incredibly durable. It is less expensive to produce than aluminum or metal sheets and lightweight. The material can cost under half the price of almost any other aluminum signs.
How do you print Aluminum Dibond sheeting?
The old way to produce signs is to use precut aluminum sign blanks. Use vinyl cutters to make big stickers you apply to the aluminum signage sign panel. We can provide these using a digital or screen printing process. It is fast & less expensive way to produce outdoor signage. Over the previous five years, UV digital printing flatbed technology has allowed us to print artwork directly to the aluminum within 5 minutes per sheet. We can cut the sheets to any three-dimensional shapes.
How do you cut Dibond?
Cutting Dibond is reasonably straightforward. Custom cutting requires taking 4×8 sheets & putting them on our 5×10 oversized router. The plastic core in the material makes cutting the sign material simple. A 4×8 sheet with a 1/4″ thickness can be cut down to custom aluminum signs within 10 minutes. We can cut the aluminum sheets to any three-dimensional shapes.
How long does Dibond aluminum stay fit?
These should stay fit for ten years. The photo print may not remain healthy for a long time depending on the direct sunlight your sign material gets. They should not fade for minimum three years.
What is the biggest size that I can order a Dibond sheet?
We stock and can ship a sheet as large as 10×5 feet. The standard size of a sheet is 4×8. If you need custom sized signs, just let us know the sheet size you need!
Dibond vs. Diabond vs. Diebond vs. Di Bond
Diabond, Dia Bond, Diebond, Die Bond are all incorrect spellings.
What are the ranges of Dibond pricing?
Pricing can vary depending on the finish, size, print, and thickness. The least expensive pricing is .040 thickness and a white finish. The highest priced is gold Dibond. The most costly width is 3mm. They are available up to .5″ thicknesses. At the time of evaluating prices, make sure it is not a cheap knock-off material. If you want to reduce prices we do have a few similar products that are much cheaper.
How do I save Dibond artwork?
You should save the artwork for your Dibond signs as a .pdf at 300 dpi. We recommend using Adobe Photoshop for all sign printers. To make your signs printed with a photo, the picture should be a high resolution to make the Dibond board prints correctly. If you wish to custom cut Dibond, please include the die cut line on a separate layer in the color pink.
Are there any Dibond alternatives?
Dibond is the name of a company; the product is technically an aluminum composite panel. There are several other companies out there that produce aluminum composite panels for much less expensive. Other brands can produce aluminum composite for less for the reason it uses a low-grade aluminum. We recommend immersive engineering steel sheets for short-term sign applications. We recommend using the official product for most projects.
What are the best finishes for Dibond sheets?
Our favorite is the brushed aluminum sheets and brushed aluminum sheeting. That is a great way to produce modern metal signs for your office or business. To print on Dibond, we recommend white aluminum sheeting. The color will pop and not get washed out in the brushed aluminum Dibond.
What if I want Dibond sign blanks?
If you want blanks or, we can help you with that. Many clients order blank metal signs to apply graphics. Personalized garden signs and custom property signs are a great example of blank metal sign applications.
